TAARIFA KWA UMMA KUTOKA FAMILIA YA HENRY KIHERIRE

HENRY KIHERIRE "Rest in Peace"

Arising from communications which are currently circulating through whatsapp and other social media regarding the handling of the overall bereavement on the passing of Henry Kiherile by gun shots, the family of Henry Kiherile in Houston wishes to express the following:

(1) We wish to express once again our sincere thanks to the Tanzanian Houston community and its leadership for the overwhelming support given to us as we grieved for the loss of Henry. You mourned with us, you prayed with us, you supported us financially, and you allowed us to cry on your shoulders. We thank you so much.

(2) We acknowledge with many thanks the support and leadership we received from the Embassy of Tanzania as we grieved on the loss. The consular services we needed to facilitate transportation of the body to Tanzania were rendered promptly and we appreciate the expressions of sympathy during the entire time we worked on the consular affairs related to transporting the body home. We are particularly grateful to the Embassy for sending an embassy official, Dismas Assenga, to Houston to mourn with us and to deliver the Ambassador’s condolence message and financial contribution. We thank you so much.

(3) We wish to inform you that the family is in close communication with the Houston Police Department team working on the case. We have had several in person meetings and regular telephone communications for briefings and updates. We believe the perpetrator(s) of the crime will be brought to justice in time.

(4) We would like to state very clearly that we were very well served by all institutions and organizations that we have worked with or are working with in this matter (Houston Police Department, Embassy of Tanzania, Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Umoja Church). We feel very well served during this very difficult time for us.

(5) Last but not least, and considering all of the above, we would like to inform all of you that we do not subscribe to the view expressed in the WhatsApp communication which wishes to send out a petition seeking signatures to support a recommendation to the government of Tanzania to remove Ambassador Wilson Masilingi from serving as Ambassador of Tanzania to the United States, purportedly for “kutowajibika na kutokujali vifo viwili tofauti ndani ya mwezi mmoja mjini Texas kwa kupigwa risasi”. We have not expressed such discontent to anyone and we would like to remove any implication that because we are one of the families that lost a son so horrifically we, therefore, may have contributed to the petition idea or motivated the authors of the petition. We want Henry to rest in peace and for us to be allowed to move on.

Agility Launches 2nd Annual Modern Africa Photo Competition: Pan-Africa Contest Seeks to Capture Fast-Changing Cities, Industry, Technology

DUBAI, UAE, June 1, 2016/ -- Agility (http://www.Agility.com/africa), a global leader in integrated logistics, today launched its Africa 2016 Photo Competition (www.Africa-2016.com), an effort to inspire and showcase images that illustrate the breathtaking pace of change across modern Africa.

The annual contest, now in its second year, is the first pan-Africa photography competition to focus on Africa’s rapid modernization. It is open to professional and amateur photographers alike.
The competition seeks to highlight the progress and development on a continent of contrasts, documenting an Africa booming with youthful consumers, new technology, urbanizing populations and promising economic prospects.
“Africa’s modern spirit and rapid evolution are obvious to those of us doing business there every day,” says Geoffrey White, CEO of Agility Africa. “It’s important for the rest of the world to recognize the drive, ambition and creativity powering development across the continent. The Africa 2016 Photo Competition is one way we can bring attention to it.”
The competition will take place from June 1 to Sept. 1, 2016. Agility will award a US$2,000 cash prize to the winner of each of three categories: cities, industry and technology. A further US$2,000 grand cash prize will go to the photographer who shoots the overall winning image, deemed to best illustrate development and growth across Africa; giving photographers a chance to win up to $4,000.
The winning photographs will be shown on a CNBC Africa telecast and published in Forbes Africa and be featured in Agility social media, promotions and advertising.
The competition will be judged by an independent panel consisting of Sneha Shah, Managing Director, Thomson Reuters Africa; Bronwyn Nielsen, Executive Director of the Africa Business News Group and Editor-in-Chief of CNBC Africa; and Salim Amin, photographer, filmmaker and chairman of Africa 24 Media and Camerapix.
The Africa 2015 Photo Competition drew 700 entries submitted by photographers in 33 countries. Winning entries were dramatic images that captured the capital city of Luanda, Angola; wheat fields in Kenya; and a child holding a smart phone in Uganda.
“Across our Africa business, we’re seeing the impact infrastructure improvements and technology are making in African life,” White says. “The contest is an engaging way for us to try to reflect the modernization we see, from sustainable farming to manufacturing to energy production. Our hope is that perceptions of Africa will become more balanced, and people elsewhere will come to see Africa as an increasingly significant contributor to the world economy.”
Agility is investing in Africa and is committed to building new logistics capacity and infrastructure to support the development of global and SME businesses across the continent. The company’s strategy also includes a strong social and environmental program, focused on education, training and health.

Mhe.

Challenges facing Tanzanian Entrepreneur
Lack of capital
Many Tanzanian find it difficulty to initialize business due to lack of initial capital, capacity limit of banks to offer loans, long loan procedures to access loans from banks and lack of collaterals required to validate ones ability to apply for loans.
Lack of entrepreneurship training
Most of the experts in Tanzanian have spirits and skills in entrepreneurship but due to high costs of training materials, funds for accommodation and traveling leads inadequate training.
Lack of entrepreneurship skills
Most of Tanzanian are uneducated and they lack skills on matters relating to entrepreurship. Their involvement in entrepreneurship may lead to a lot of risks so they opt not be involved.
Poor government policy, regulations and laws
Tanzanian government does not have clear policy on supporting entrepreneurs and helping them to build their potentials.
Culture and beliefs
In Tanzania we have a mixture of several religions each with its beliefs for example if an entrepreneur decides to invest in keeping pigs it is acceptable to Muslims. These always result into a narrowed market to some business opportunities.
